Nancy's parents are Edward Gant and Rosannah Mary (McMahon) Pyle. Edward Gant Pyle was b. 22 Sep 1775, Allegany, VA and Rosannah Mary McMahon was b. 4 oct 1789, Washington, KY

William^7 Van Vickle
(Evert^6 Van Vickle, Evert^5 Van Wicklen, Frederick^4, Evert^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes), b. abt 1816, Virginia. He married 23 October 1838 (2nd marriage) to Nancy Pyle (b. 15 August 1822, Crawford, IN and d. 22 Sept 1909), dau. of Edward Grant and Rosannah Mary (McMahon) Pyle. Enoch, Benjamin and William remove to Illinois, and William moves eventually to Missouri. He died in 1854 at age 37 years, 10 months, 4 days and is buried in Guilliams Cemetery, Holt County, Missouri. His footstone bears the initials W. V.

He married Emma J. ____ (b. Sept 1852, IL) about 1898. Emma had three children by a previous marriage; Edward^8 Van Vickle, b. abt 1848, MO; Jacob^8 Melton Van Vickle, b. 1 February 1848, d. 31 August 1930--bur. Craig Cemetery, Holt Co., Missouri. He married Caroline Randall (b. 30 September 1858, Stanton, KY, d. 25 August 1942--bur. Craig Cem, Holt, MO. She is d/o of Samuel and Susan Randall; Thomas^8 P. Van Vickle, b. 1852, d. 10 June 1852 at age 2 months;William^8 E. Van Vickle, b. abt 1853, MO. At the time of the 1910 and 1920 US Census he was living in San Benito, CA;  Evert^8 Van Vickle, b. 27 Feb 1853, d. 9 October 1855 at age 2 years, 7 months, 12 days. (Luvenia, Thomas, and Evert are all buried in Guilliams Cemtery, Holt County, Missouti with their father, William.)

1840 US Census for Cravenville, Daviess, MO lists William Van Vickle as male age 20 to 30 with one female age 15 to 20 (that would be wife, Nancy) and one male under five (presumably their son, Andrew). 

1840 US Census for Cravenville, Daviess, MO lists Evert Van Vickle (age 50 to 60) with 2 males ages 5 to 10, one male age 15 to 20, 2 females age 10 to 15, and one female age 15 to 20. 

Familysearch.com information on William Van Vickle - b. 9 May 1822, Crawford, Lawrence, IN and m. 22 October 1838 in Crawford, IN to Nancy Pyle (b. 15 August 1822, Crawford, IN and d. 22 Sept 1909). Nancy is the d/o Edward Grant and Rosannah Mary (McMahon) Pyle. Nancy Pyle married 2nd to William Best, Crawford IN

IGI-familysearch.com lists a Nancy Van Vickle who married John S. Best on 6 February 1856 in Holt, MO. In that William Van Vickle died in 1854 in Holt, it is quite possible that this Nancy is William's wife who remarried a year or two after her husband's untimely death.

1870 US Census for Dallas, Holt, Missouri lists John Van Vickle, 21, farm hand in household of Eliza Story, widow, and family. (Eliza's husband is Hezekiah Story who is head of household, age 60 in the 1860 US Census for Dallas, Holt, MO...but he is deceased by the time of the 1870 US Census.)
